Think globalization. The teacher in me thinks it’s a good idea to ask Wikipedia to define what this is, and to provide the entry to avoid AI slop. But reminiscing my own personal story, that was the thing that made me really engage with the world in a meaningful way, whether I had a good attitude or not. And while I showed that my taste in music could definitely segregate me, the major industries thought it was all too convenient, and sold as much as they could of their manufactured success stories. When it comes to people’s histories on the web and what they can build, in a way that is significant enough to resonate with people across the globe, what we find is more resistance every day. Why is that? Because the financial institutions are supposed to control the process? Worse: because this was decided to be offered as a monetized experience? What happened to the right to come and go? What happened even to the marketplace of ideas, in case you’re craving for more capitalism? What happened to the actual interest from political parties that support socialist and communist views in maintaining language and culture exchange, relationships and concerns aligned with the expectations of a world that is thought entirely to serve its people, and not the interests of big firms? The English teacher was supposed to be a facilitator, but companies want them to be a big fucking liar.
